Non BT Email address

We have recently changed our server to BT, and for the first six days have been able to receive emails from our old .co.uk addresses via Outlook 2007, suddenly today we have stopped receiving them.

I did not change any settings in Outlook and wondered if anybody could confirm what the POP and other settings should be.

I was trying to find out if we could receive the same email on 4 different PC's at the same time, as currently once the email has reached the main Computer it only shows up there, but when turned off the message goes to another Computer.

When you say you have changed your server to BT, do you mean that the .co.uk domain is now registered and hosted with BT?

If so follow these steps...

1.  The email address's you are currently using will no longer exist and will need creating, login to the manage services section of your account with your primary account username i.e. example1234@btconnect.com

2.  Each .co.uk email address you create will need a @btconnect.com email address to fuction from, so you may need to create more @btconnect.com email address's depending on requirements.

3.  You would select your btconnect.com email address you want to work from and create an alias, this means that the .co.uk domain emails will be created, follow these guides to process this task:

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7158/related/1

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/2048,2050,2061/a_id/12937/kw/alias

4.  You will now have your domain (.co.uk) emails created and operational from a @btconnect.com username/email address in the background, you will need to follow this next step to configure Outlook mail client to work with your .co.uk email address paying particular attention to steps 13, 15 & 19 which give alternate instructions for non @btconnect.com email address's hosted by BT:

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9484/related/1

That should be all working for you.

If the domain is not hosted by BT and you want to use BT mail servers to send from, then you would need to follow these steps:

1.  Set up mail relay against your domain, this enables you to use the BT mail servers for sending mail and appear as your domain email address:

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/1995,2003,2946,2997/a_id/9/kw/mail%20relay

2.  Configure your email client for this to work and be operational:

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/1995,2003,2946,2995/a_id/8793/kw/mail%20relay

That should be all working for you.
