Hi all,
I am a sole trader business working from home ( just starting up) and I have had issues with my router (Home Hub 2.0) I am being told that I should have a business router(?) as BT often do a "sweep" and when they do my service drops out. Would a business router solve the problem as I just cannot afford to be off-line for even an hour, and are these things expensive?
Many thanks,
Glenos.
Oh it just gets better. The engineer has now spent 4hrs going back and forth to the exchange and is saying that they have issues at that end and will connect me to the correct port(?) asap (i'm not holding my breath)
The help desk who are dealing with my biz router request have no record of my move up to the next service option which gives me 20mb and a free router. After a heated exchange they are sending me a confirmation email of this request.
I am absolutely disparing of BT. A more useless bunch I have yet to find. With this kind of service I am now thinking that when I am up and trading I shall be in a very dicey situation as I am in the holiday trade and people thesae days are quick to sue.
I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with your broadband line, glenos, I hope that the engineer has correctly identified the fault and that your connection will now work reliably. Please understand that the technical hlepdesk are focussed entirely on helping resolve such matters.
As for a business which relies heavily on broadband service, it seems obvious that a "backup" connection may be a sensible option in these circumstances.
