OUTRAGEOUS. I ordered a phone line - this was delayed by the snow for a further 9 days as the order was cancelled and had to be reordered. This line does not do what I wanted. I had to order a new line - done last Tuesday - Order reference 28245981537. An engineer (So i Thought!) was booked for Wed 27th - am. He did not turn up. I have spent over three hours trying tyo get to the bopttom of this - the order was not placed even though it was confirmed to me and an order reference given. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN!!! I have had to reorder - a further hour on the phone today and have been told that no line can be installed until the 9th FEBRUARY!!!!! This is ridiculous. I want this escalated - a contract must have been created when I o rdered the l;ine and was told that this had been done and an order reference given. Why do I now have towait until thwe 9th February as it was BT's systems that were incompetent. We are a small business and are seriously running out of patience with all of BT's offerings - I am only grateful that I did not order Broadband through you as well. This is the only thing that seems to be working properly. If we operated like this with our customers then I have no doubt we would no longer be in business. I WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO ADDRESS THIS AND CONFIRM THAT AN EMERGENCY ENGINEER WILL GET US SORTED MUCH QUICKER THAN THE 9TH FEBRUARY. We await a response.
Hi
I am sorry to read you have had so many problems trying to get a BT Business line installed. If you can please private mail me your details and any BT Business order details i can ask for this to be looked into.
Kind Regards

Sorry, this isn't an official BT reply, but I just had to laugh at your rant as you captured my feelings aabout BT perfectly. Alas, I did order broadband, was promised 3mb speeds but am now told I'm stuck forever on 0.5mb, which isn't fast enough for me to run my business with. The annoying thing is that you know they can sort the problem, but there is no sense of urgency or appreciation that you are a small business who totally depends on them, and when they say someone will get back to you in 48 hours with an answer, they never do and it's left for you to chase them. Oh I long to be in such a monopolistic position that I could afford to treat my customers like that (although my basic decency and profesisionalism would never let me treat a customer like this). Hope you get some decent customer service in the end.
Almost identical to my experiences see thread:
I ordered BT Business ADSL, phoneline, static IP, calling plans etc mid-November, it was screwed up at every step just like your situation. Here it is early February and they're still trying to bill me for phonecalls that are covered by my calling plan.
A relative of mine has been trying to get a consumer phoneline and ADSL installed for about five months now, he's just given up and is going to go either completely mobile (phone+3G) or go with Virgin+VOIP.
Come on BT, if you can't even deliver on your telco monopoly, how do you hope to compete on the broadband side of things?
