PRINTER: BT Hub 3 + brother MFC-J5910DW = no lasting wireless connection

Hi there.

I am trying hard to connect our office printer to the BT Hub 3 by wireless LAN.

The posts in

http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/Wireless-Printers-No-Longer-Connect-after-BT-Infinity-Ho...

really helped a lot, but it does not solve the problem since the printer does not really stay connected to the network, even if the Hub shows connected.

Some information for a start:

1. This is a BT Hub with the firmware: Version 4.7.5.1.83.8.82.1.1 (Type A)

2. Connected: Lan: 1x Windows Vista, WLan: 1x Windows Vista 2x Windows 7 2x Mac (different software) brother printer via WPS connection tool

3. Hub has now 802.11 b/g, fixed channel 2, DHCP Lease time 21 days (just tried that now)

4. Printer has a static IP 192.168.1.67, SIP ALG is enabled

5. The BT Wi-Fi option at the Hub is enabled

6. Now energy saving option enabled at the printer

What happens now is:

1. restart printer and hub and connection with WPS

2. Printer and hub show connection, page printed

3. Connect Windows 7 by WLAN by looking for the TCP/IP of the printer. Works

4. It keeps printing and scanning for about half a day and after lunch

5. The printer seems connected to the hub (Device status "connected"), sometimes also to the computers but no ping will go throught to the printer.

6. Restarting the printer does not change anything.

7. Restarting the Hub made a change and as soon as one of our computers reconnected to the Hub the printer started printing testpages we send a while earlier.

--> The hub keeps disconnecting all ddevices every once in a while. After that the printer cannot connect anymore. I called the customer desk, and the broadband is perfectly fine.

--> The hub switched off twice today.

--> Someone suggested to look at (http://forumhelp.dyndns.info/hardware/printers.html) but no IPs out of range are exepted.

If anyone has a clou what we could do, please let me know.

Cheers,

Tim
