PSTN Line and VOIP Line: One Phone

Forgive me if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it...

Have just moved to BT BB and have a BT landline (hosting the broadband) and one VOIP (BT BBV) line.  Am I correct in assuming if I don't connect any phones to my PSTN landline socket but connect one phone to the voice port of the BT BB hub I will be able to answer calls to the PSTN landline by hitting 5 on the hub phone?

I guess if I then want to make a call out via PSTN rather than by BT BBV then I hit 5 first on the hub phone as the breakout signal.

I would only like to have one phone on my desk but still use both lines.  Is what I think correct?

Thanks

odie

Hi Odie

Thanks for your post, Yes that is correct, you can answer your landline via line 1 on your bbv line and also dial out by pressing the number 5 button.

Thanks Sean

Do you know if all the "normal" features such as Caller ID will show up on the handset if the PSTN call been routed through the hub?

Are there any changes I can make in my Telephone Service so that I can have caller ID show up when linking my SIP Phone in? I did a similar think that Odie did with my phone system, and have been looking for a way to implement the caller ID.
