The short version:
I spent 3 months trying to sort out a series or mistakes caused by BT at the end of last year, far too many to relate here. It ended with me making an official complaint which resulted in receipt of an apology, 9 months free line rental and some other rebates/discounts. I was told not to pay any bills until the rebates had been sorted out and a new bill would be sent out. Meanwhile in January our broadband was cancelled(!) because of an unpaid bill of £70 while we were waiting for the new bill. We complained of course and was connected again after 10 days(!). I have now discovered that our broadband was completely cancelled and a new 2 year contract set up from Jan incurring set-up fees etc. I would prefer not to spend another 30 or 40 hours trying to sort this out. I want these extra charges cancelled, the term reduced from 2 years to it's original remaining term and compensation for being without broadband for 10 days in January (I was willing to let this go to save my blood pressure but will now pursue all the way to Otello if necessary).
