Preparation for BT infinity

Hi all,

I just moved flat and have checked to find out when BT infinity will be arriving.

It says itwill be coming to my area in the late months of this year.

What are the technical requirements for getting BT infinity into my flat. Does it go through the standard BT phone line? Or does an engineer install a different standard of cable e.g. CAT-6 or Coax

For a flat im guessing it will be FTTC or to the nearest green box?

The reason I ask is that I am about to setup my own servers in my flat into the cupboard. There is already a BT phone line in the hallway, so I am wanting to run that into my cupboard where the BT router will be placed and then all my networking will be done from the cupboard with a Cisco router.

So i dont really want to waste time moving the phone cable if its not going to be used, I have had a look through the BT website and there is no documentation on what the cabling is or other networking standards?

Is there any place I can get this information for public use?

There is a junction/splitter box on my flat window where the BT line comes into the house, will that affect the quality also?

Thanks

I think you will need a serviceability check but as always, it is only used for internal purposes only.

There maybe a phone line installed in your flat but it needs to be terminated somewhere for you to get data services. It is only up to BT on when they will install this. They would also consider if there is a market in your area.
