Re: Large file download capping -

Hi,

interesting advice both re the Intego antivirus6 and the firmware upgrade.  I am running  AV6 and had no message as described at all, only the download limiter.

Obviously I need to call BT but as regards whose responsibility it is it must lie with BT as the purveyor of the equipment rather than the manufacturer.

Still, no worries, thank you all for the advice.

I tried to download Mountain Lion last night onto my MacBook - after 10 hours I gave up and contacted Apple Support this morning. After several attempts by the Apple Technical support team, they confirmed that it was nothing to do with either the software or my computer.  They confirmed that they had had numerous enquiries about this problem from Mac users using BT for their wifi.  I have taken Mark's advice and spoken to BT Business Support who have admitted that there is a problem with the 2Wire 2701 routers.  They are sending me a replacement tomorrow.  This has taken all night resulting in a failed download plus two hours in total today trying to get this sorted via Apple (awful automated voice recognition system and BT - just as bad as Apple).  I was therefore annoyed to find that BT has known about this for some time and had failed to notify its customers of the problem with this router.  Now that nearly all software is downloaded off web sites this should have been rectified much sooner instead of leaving customers to sort it out for themselves.
