Routing Public Address using 1701HGV-C

I am having trouble getting traffic into my VPN via a static address.

I have carried out the following:-

On the BROADBAND settings page - I Added the Router IP with the 255.255.255.248 SUBNET from a block of 5 Public IP addresses, with the tick for enable, and unticked for "auto firewall"

On the Firewall Settings > selected "Allow Application...", and selected "allow All Apps (DMZPlus mode)", and this shows up on the status tab.

On the NAT and Address translation I see the VPN device with the correct IP address, and the correct "PUBLIC Fixed" address.

From a laptop I am able to ping the router IP address entered on the broadband settings page, but cannot ping the internet, and I cannot ping the device from the internet.

Please could you give some advice for where I am going wrong.

Many thanks in anticipation.

You will need to allocate your static IP addresses to each device manually:

Go to: Settings - LAN - NAT & Address Allocation In NAT & Address Allocation look for the device, there are two drop down lists: Address Assignment : this should be set to: Public (select WAN IP mapping) The lower drop -down list, WAN IP Mapping : will allow you to allocate an IP address from the User range.

After that, you'll need to open the specific ports for each of the devices to allow VPN traffic.  If you know which ports you need to open, the helpdesk can help, so Contact Us  You will likely be transferred to the Ethernet helpdesk who can help with port forwarding.
