We are a business in a rural area and have been having growing problems with our credit card transactions. They are painfully slow connecting and getting authorisation, with sometimes 'no connection' results and then 'decline' (due to no connection). I have two shops in other towns with same set up with no problem, so I am sure it is a localised problem. We have checked with bank - no problem their end. We have had the line checked - it works. We have noticed that the problem seems to get worse in wet weather. Apart from paying BT £100 to test the line and then be told 'it works' is there anyway we can get a more meaningful response that would indicate if the line is flaky (ie working for voice calls but too poor quality to effectively carry digital), lines suffering from damp conditions (as we were informally told by a BT engineer/customer), and if this is the case how we can go about getting the line into proper 'fit for purpose' working order.
Thanks
