Slow connection after replacing router

Silvanus

Hi,

Last week our router failed and a new one was installed. Since then our connection has been noticeably slower. I wonder if anyone can offer a diagnosis:

Router is a 2Wire, model 2701HGV-C

DSL stats:

Down Up

Modem Type:Built in modem - ADSL
DSL Line (Wire Pair):Line 1 (inner pair)
Current DSL Connection:

Rate:288 kbs887 kbs
Max Rate:3585 kbs888 kbs
Noise Margin:13.1 dB6.1 dB
Attenuation:53.0 dB31.8 dB
Output Power:17.5 dBm12.4 dBm

Protocol:G.DMT2 Annex A
Channel:Interleaved
DSLAM Vendor InformationCountry: {46336} Vendor: {IFTN} Specific: {51313 }
ATM PVC:0/38

Rate Cap:3585 kbs
Attenuation @ 300kHz:53.0 dB
Uncanceled Echo:-14.5 dBOk
VCXO Frequency Offset:-50.9 ppmOk
Final Receive Gain:28.3 dBOk
Excessive Impulse Noise:0Ok

Could be an SNR issue, noise margin looks high?

Thanks in advance

hi there Silvanus,

It may be the set up, Can you double check you have the DSL cable to the DSL port and that this goes directly to a single Microfilter and this Microfilter goes directly into the wall?

Its also worth while moving into the test socket and see if the DSL rate goes up.

If the socket looks like 1, 3, 4, or 5 in this image then you can remove the two screws and move into the test socket beneath that.

If that is all correct we may be lookgin at a banded profile,  it would be best to contact us to have that removed

Hope this helps

Your modem settings are fine. It could be due to issue with the DSL splitter you are using. Check if the splitter is connected to the right port. If it is connected in the wrong port, it will directly affects the broadband internet service and can lead to slow speed connection. It wiill be better if you could directly get their service if the problem still persist.
