Hi

BT,s Adverts are a marketing scam

the price in the advert is not what you pay

for example BT phone & broadband option 1 £ 26.95 + vat sounds a good deal dosen,t it

except its not available in your area So it will cost you £ 29.45 + vat   its a marketing scam

and then they stiff you with excess usage charges that you have to take BT,s word for.

anyway after getting stiffed with this excess charge a couple of times I asked to switch to

option 2 unlimited broadband for£ 34.45 +vat the add states £20.00 for the broadband &

£14.45 for the line !!!!! oh no!!! its not the broadband will cost you £25.00 +vat not the

advertised £20.00 & even then you have to sign up for another 2 years contract

why can,t BT be up front & say what it will cost instead of making promises you can,t have.

Hi

Im on BT. Option 1  I think as Bt don,t seem to know what package Im on judging from the bills Im getting .

anyway apart from being overcharged because of my geographical Area ( conn )

I'm also being overcharged on the Line rent £15.24 instead of the advertised £14.45

But Hey that's not what Im on here to gripe about.

My gripe is this Arbitrary excess usage charge that BT says I've incurred. Now way I say

But do Bt provide a usage monitor ?  NO  just about the only ISP that doesn't

so we are supposed to accept BT,s word for this no proof no nothing Just pay the £8.00 charge.

Well BT Im not happy with this I wan,t to so what when & where all this usage supposedly took place. As I do little more than surf the web for suppliers & use eBay I hardly think that can account for going over the 10gb limit so BT lets see some proof.

BT can screenshot the usage thing and email you the picture to show you

i dont understand why BT dont have an online tool for this.

customer security of some form i guess. even though someone cant do much with the info

Hi

yes that would help to narrow down when all this alledged usage occured

as it is I do think it only right that Bt provide some evidence apart from

simply stating excess usage on the bill

if I sent my customers such vague descriptions on their bills Im pretty sure I know what

the response would be. so why should BT be treated any diffrent.

who do they think they are Lawyers.!!

I urge everyone to never sign up to ay BT product. I'm on option 1. I occasionally go over my 10gig limit, and used to pay £1 per gig over this. Now they have changed this with no warning whatsoever to £5 per 5 gig, in £5 increments. So now if I go over my limit by just 10k they would charge £5. Its a rip off and they never notified me about this.

I have had absolutley hopeless levels of service from BT since moving home (500 metres down the road!) in all respects. Line speed is acceptable but I cant even start to explain the horror story that started when I moved. It would take too long. I am just very sorry I signed up for an 18 month contract. As soon as it is up I will most definatley leave BT and I really urge any one else to never use them. Expensive, absolutley rubbish support, poor hardware (home hub is very poor, look at some online reviews for it).

Hi tuffty,

Sorry to see that you have been having problems. It does, however, sound like you are a Residential customer and in that case you may be best to contact the Residential Forum regarding this. Hope this helps.
