Unable to access http://promobay.org

Hello,

We've got a client who is interested in being promoted on http://www.promobay.org - but whenever we try to access the site from our BT Business Infinity connection, we receive the message "Error - Site blocked". I've investigated this and it appears this message is being produced by a BT Server (IP 62.239.4.146: the site's real IP address is 108.59.2.73-76: so it appears BT's DNS servers are returning the invalid IP address).

Why is this? I've only seen the "Error - site blocked" message on sites that BT have been forced to block due to court action and as this is a new site, I cannot see why this site should be blocked. If there is a legal reason why it has been blocked, can you point me towards the appropriate court documents?

Hi,

Yeah did some digging (literally) and our DNS servers do have the incorrect IP for some reason.

What to do is put the details in an email to support@btbroadbandoffice.com and we can get it escalated.

Hi,

Quick update.

Just found out today that promobay was actually being blocked by UK ISPs, but it's now been removed.

I didn't realise that the site was indirectly related to The Pirate Bay, which I think was the reason for the block.
