We had a powercut and lost our voicemail module and cannot reprogramme and assign voicemail boxes because the message comes up 'invalid'. We turned the power supply off and switched off at the box for a few minutes and turned it back on to reboot the system but to no avail.
Do I need a new voicemail module and is this easy to install myself. What specifically do I need to order and how do I install it?
Is there anything else I could do to the current system to get my voicemail module back or is it dead.
Would really appreciate any ones advice.
Regards
SM
Turning the power off is not enough, you also need to disconnect the battery for a few seconds.
Good morning,
I know this thread was a little while ago, but we are having the same issue. But as far as i can see we dont have a back up battery? I have taken the fronts off the versatility system and cannot see any back up battery.
So does this mean the voicemail module is corrupt or needs replacing?
Trying to get through BT re: maintenance contract is proving near impossible. So im figuring its easier to try and sort it ourselves.
Would appreciate any advice or help if anyone has had a similar problem.
You need to disconnent the batery of your phone also.
We have a Versatility system with 7 phones connected.
As far as i can see, we dont have a battery or back up battery connected.
When we have had power cuts before or when the electricity has been turned off, the phones have not worked. Therefore there cannot be a backup battery? As the backup battery would kick in if the power is off.
Has anyone else had this issue before? with no back up battery.
The phones are working. But the voicemail module appears to be the faulty part. So does it require a new voicemail module, or is the motherboard/PCB fauly? Is there a fuse that has gone and needs replacing.
Any information at all would be great.
Hi,
The voicemail module is easy enough to swap out, but unless you are familiar with programming the BT Versatility, you may need an engineer out. Without seeing what you are seeing, its difficult to make an assessment.
