Hi,
I'm working on setting up a VPN to a server we host in our office.
Our setup is a BT Home Hub 3 connected to a Dell Sonicwall Firewall which is connected to our VPN and other networked computers.
I can connect to the VPN when on the same network, so it makes me believe the Hub or the Sonicwall are stopping it because I don't need to go through them to get to the VPN.
So because external connections would need to go through the Hub then the Sonicwall, I would need to set up the Hub to port forward as well as the Sonicwall?
The first issue I encountered was when I was selecting the device for port forwarding it wouldn't allow me to use the IP address of the Sonicwall, I could only select the only connected unknown device (Because it's the only device connected via ethernet I was able tell it was the Sonicwall)
So I then allowed 1723 TCP forwarding on the hub, but I've also read about GRE protocol 47, but not sure how to set the GRE?
Once I have the Hub figured out, it's on to the Sonicwall.
Thanks
Tom
I've just noticed that the BT hub is on a different LAN IP to the VPN.
The BT subnet is 192.168.1.254 and the sonicwall uses 192.168.168.168. The VPN would had been given an LAN IP by the Sonicwall, thus I cant find the VPN by IP on the Hub.
So now what...?
