VoIP third party IP PBX

So we have some VoIP numbers with BT which we got because we moved office. We had our numbers ported to VoIP with BT and then redirected to the new pstn lines as to keep our number.

Now that we have moved office we have put in a VoIP phone system Kerio Operator in the instance. The phone system is working and we have tested it with a VoIP number (not a BT one). Now we want to add our number to Kerio Operator.

We have been provided the following information from BT:

Number/username:            0560*******

SIP password:                   OURPASSWORD

Domain:                           bmnhb-03.bt.com

Alt Domain:                      sip.bbvservice.nat.bt.com

Outbound proxy:               www.bbvservice-560349.bt.com

So trying to use the above details fail. In Kerio Operator I have the following options:

Hostname or IP Address

Proxy inbound & outbound

Port Number

Username

Password

For the Hostname or IP address I have tried the the BT supplied Domain - bmnhb-03.bt.com as well as the alt Domain - sip.bbvservice.nat.bt.com

I've set the outboud proxy as - www.bbvservice-560349.bt.com & left the inbound either blank & tried using the Domain - bmnhb-03.bt.com & sip.bbvservice.nat.bt.com

None of the combnations work. The problem seems to be in the first instance that the Domain & Alt Domain are not discvorable.

if I try an nslookup on bmnhb-03.bt.com & sip.bbvservice.nat.bt.com I get no response back from the network the phone system is on and from various other networks.

BT refuse to give me any further information that flat our won't help or are unable to. They won't put me through to anyone that can help either. So if anyone has any information on how to get this working that would be great.

We would simply move SIP providers, but unfortuanlly BT tied us into a three year contract at the time of our move and we where informed that the VoIP line would work with any VoIP product so now we are essentialy stuck with a service we can not use because they refuse to help or provided correct information.

Hi skeates,

Have you been in contact with Kerio to see if the system is compatible with BT VoIP, as when I have checked their website and it only mentions it being tested with sipgate GmbH and VOIP-unlimited as it could be a compatibility issue.
