Website changes not showing; using dreamweaver

Hi all,

I have built my website with Dreamweaver. After making changes to my site I 'sync' it. It shows the changes have occured in my remote and local view but upon loading the site online nothing has changed. All my ftp is correct and the connection is fine. I'm sure there must be a problem with my BT hosting package as I think I've exhausted all the options my end. I hope this is understandable and would love to hear any response and/or suggestions.

Kind Regards
Dan

Apologies for the delay,

In the site manager panel under the advanced tab is a section marked remote info where it says Host Directory enter the words public_html/  this selects exactly what folder the FTP is pointing to. Without it anything sent to the site ends up in root directory where it is not visible to internet users.

p.s I have tried clearing my cache and all my browsing history so its not a problem with my browser.

the BT file manager also says the files have been modified but still nothing on the live website!!

Have you tried publishing to a local directory then uploading a single file to check if that works?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your quick response.  Your answer prompted me to try and manually upload each file individually using the bt file manager - it worked Smiley Very Happy

However it is a rather laborous solution. It would be much easier if I could do all the updates through dreamweaver.

I remember having this problem before and can't remember how it was resolved! Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

Dan

When you connect remotely via Dreamweaver, toggle the 'Local View' to 'Remote View'. If you can see the public_html folder then the upload path has been set wrong in the site manager/wizard.

Hi

Yeah I can see a public folder in the remote view. How do I sort this out?

Cheers, Dan
