First post so please be kind.. 🙂
I successfully transitioned to 365 on both my PC (running W7) and iPhone.
I upgraded to Windows 8 at the weekend and downloaded Windows Live Mail but despite checking all the settings too many times to admit to, I still can't send or receive. Fortunately the iPhone is still working fine.
Error message is:
Unable to send or receive messages for the XXXXXXXXXXXX account. An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'pop.outlook.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E Protocol: POP3 Port: 995 Secure(SSL): Yes
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Peter.
PS. I did search but couldn't this problem specifically..

Hi,
That error relates to corruption, either with the account or with the files emails are stored in. What you need to do is back up your email and then delete and recreate the account.
If that fails you may need to back up everything in WLM and uninstall/reinstall it.
Probably be best to contact Microsoft first though.

Thanks for that Dave.
Why isn't anything straight forward..?
Windows 8 doesn't support pop3 with its built in Metro app, you aren't trying to use that are you?
