In a few years or so, my wife and I will be retiring and moving to the country and we’ll be selling off our house then. (the kids are all grown up and with families). I’m currently thinking of ways to add more value to our home. Will building a granny flat in our backyard help? While we’re still around we could have it rented out, that will surely help with our expenses. Are there any laws for and against building Granny Flats in residential properties? What are the limitations and is a second granny flat allowed? Hoping to get really helpful replies from you all.
