anybody familiar with the law concerning domain copyrights?

I had some help from this forum concerning blocking uk domains to deny a harasser. It was useful, thanks.

I have a new question if anyone has had experience with issues concerning copyrights of their domain.

Do we own the copyright to our www.(whateveryourdomain) domain?

Do we have any say on how it is used, or how it is linked to on the internet?

My problem is someone has used my photo (an actual photo of me) and some of my info like age and location, to open accounts on webboards and pages. One of the sites I'm having a problem with, I was able to get them to take down my photo that was used as an avatar, and even block the account. But they would not touch the posts, and my main concern is that there is still a link to my domain in the signature, implying that the posts made were made by me. I had talked to the domain's rep on the phone and he stated that anyone can sign up using whatever information they want and link to wherever they want.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if I have any legal rights as far as getting the link removed from the signature. For instance, if something like this happened at lunarforums, obviously they have their own policies, but is there a standard of law or universal AUP that also has to be fallowed?

If he links to your pictures (so url as opposed to copying) then change your own source picture to use another url, and then put up a picture with something like "this picture has been stolen" with the url link he is using.

You could modify your htaccess file to redirect all incoming page requests from the lunarforums site to a page saying something like... " the article you have just come from was  posted by somebody pretending to be me ".

Personally I would not lose sleep over it after all it is a link to your site and such things are desireable for no matter what the lunarforum post says be it good or bad people may follow the link and come visit and this is what you want.
