can phone line provider change broadband speed

Hi, I have had bt business broadband for a few years now. When the line the broadband uses was supplied by our local telecoms provider the bt broadband was very quick and was great to use. We were getting all of 20mb. At the start of last year i switch the line provider back to bt. Since then the broadband speed has dropped and seems to be very variable and is now a problem. Do you think it is down to the line of just more users using btbussiness broadband thus causing contention issues. I have been told the line does not change it is just who bills you for it. Is this true please.

Hi Paul, 

 

Sorry to read about the problems you are having with your line.

 

There are several different reason as to why you could be having a slow speed issue.

 

What I would suggest is for you to contact the Technical Help team, they would be able to run diagnostics with you.
