custom reverse DNS name

Hi,

One of our users recently received this message in reply to one of his outgoing emails.

"There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. <domain.com #5.5.0 smtp;550 Sorry, we do not accept mail from hosts with dynamic IP or generic DNS PTR-records. Please get a custom reverse DNS name from your ISP for your host ip address or contact abuse@corp.mail.ru in case of error>"

We are running MS Exchange 2003, with a static IP from BT Business Broadband.

This is the first time we have encountered this problem.

Can anyone help me with a solution?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Hi loginname,

For a PTR (reverse dns) record, please use the reverse dns form at www.dnsforms.co.uk.

Kind Regards,
