Hi there,
I want to install wordpress into a sub-directory on my site as follows
/public/blog
that is accessable from the website address http://jaysgrandadventure.com/blog
but when I tried to install wordpress I was not able to do so - the installer ran for a long time without anything happening and it added a .htaccess file to my / directory which completely blocked all access to my website. I had to go and manually delete that file using FTP before my site was accesssable again.
did I do something wrong? I don't understand why I couldn't get it to work.

Hi jaytelford,
If you are wanting wordpress to be in a specific folder, you would need to manually install it in that folder your self the 1 click installer wont work for this.
This is not something we are able to support, you can get help with this from Word Press

the steps are as follows:
- Go to the General panel.
- In the box for Site address (URL): change the address to the root directory's URL.
- Click Save Changes. (Do not worry about the error message and do not try to see your blog at this point! You will probably get a message about file not found.) Or you can just refresh your project with a new theme which can help you get this easier.
