servers Backup Solution

Hello,

We are looking for a new backup solution for ourselves since the current one isn't sufficent and fast enough for us.

So far we came with this idea:

Backup servers with Disks in RAID1 or RAID10 with 4 partitions on them, each partition would be for a seperate server containing all it's data including system and in case of the server failure we could netboot it and run it via network from a proper partition from the backup server.

What do you guys think about this idea, do you have any other ideas or suggestions?

Thing is we want to minimise any potential downtime, it took us a whole day to restore data from one of our servers this week, which is way too long and too much downtime hence we are looking for a proper solution.

If you are looking for a proper solution, then it's probably favourite to start this dialog with your solution provider.

What you want has the potential for being a reasonably big project and you need a solution that will work first time, every time.  If you are in a DR screnario, you don't want to have a solution that may or may not work.
