Ok can anyone help?
I noticed today that when I search on google that the link for my shop has changed and instead of starting with www.milkbug blah blah it now starts with www.btowstore blah blah!
I am working on offline SEO and it doesnt help when the links keep changing - can someone in BT come back to me on this as its the second time in a month I am having issues with epage links!

I'll think you'll find this was discussed in depth quite recently:

From my point of view, whilst I don't fully understand all the technical stuff, I'm a bit annoyed that many user searches in Google present the www.btowstore..... domain in the search results. I would much prefer that only the domain of my shop was shown because anything else confuses the (potential) customer and presents the wrong image (like is it some "mickey mouse" website or is it a serious one?).

Hi
Thanks for that - as you say I dont know much about the technical detail - but like you am concerned that we have a random link to our stores.
This is the question to BT and I have also contacted epages with the same concern as sometimes they are quicker to respond!
I have asked a company to start offline SEO and they are using www.domainname.co.uk for all the incoming links etc - is all this work now useless because BT is now using this btowstore.whatever links to direct people to my site? Its a massive issue for me if this is the case as otherwise how can anyone do any offline SEO to promote incoming links when the domian name keeps changing!

BT are not using btowstore.com in place of your domain, they are using it alongside it. The issue was that Google seemed to rank the btowstore domain higher than the custom domain for some people.
If you are advertising your domain then people will still be able to find your shop by going to your domain name. This is not going to be an issue for you.

Hi
Thanks for your response - but it doesnt answer the fundamental question for me - the offline SEO links that have been placed are www.domainname.co.uk - so if Google is picking up a different domain name does that mean that all the links that have been placed are redundant? i.e will these be ignored by google when it crawls due to the duplicate sites?
I do need a firm answer on this as that means all the SEO work done is useless
