Can anyone tell me if my upload speed has been capped at 448kps as my broadband was suposed to be regraded back in March. I was told that because I had home broadband that it was slowing my business broadband down due to contention and that if I changed my home line to a business line it would speed up the broadband on both lines. I was looking for a faster upload speed at the time on the business line. My download speed is not bad at all and had been very stable as for the other line that has intermittent problems and the router often disconnects and re connects. I noticed the day the other line was switched over to business broadband the upload speed on that line went up to 833kbps but when I queried this I got no answer as to why one line had an increase in upload and the other one did not. I have repeatedly complained about this but just gett fobbed off. I have a 2WIRE hub on one line and it shows:
HI Andrew4,
do you know if the line in question is an ADSL or ADSL2+ connection? As ADSL connections have a capped upload of 448K and ADSL2+ connections can have upto 1Mb upload, depending on line quality and length.
If you can send me your broadband phone number and contact details in a private message I can check for you.
