Hello
Can someone from BT help me please.
I live in the EH37 5RJ area, the exchange has been upgraded to provide ADSL2. I have a business account. BT Sales telss me ADSL2 is not available to me. They suggested to get a second line and get broadband on that line to to doulbe the speed, sounds a bit insane to me...
I live less then a mile from the exchange with a direct connection.
Why can I not be upgraded to ADSL2?
Hi there,
It says ADSL Max is available but not ADSL 2
Put your postcode in here: https://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker
BT's ADSL Max services were launched in March 2006, however ADSL Max, and the back-end IP Stream platform were formally retired in June 2014
Thanks
Hi peterb,
I realise you posted this a while ago and hoping you’ve already found the answer you needed, but just in case if you still have not been able to upgrade your line, if you can send me a private message with your broadband phone number and your prefered contact details, I can check the line and get a colleaguie from sales to call you to regrade/resign the line onto ADSL2.
Regards
Markp
Hi Mark,
It took me several calls to Sales for them to consider the ADSL2 upgrade, they were quite adement it was not possible. Suspect a bit of extra training for them might help them.
Finally got there in the end.
Still suffer from some congestion (increase in latency and drop in bandwidth) in the exchange in the evening.
Hi peterb,
I am glad you managed to get the upgrade in line speed, when you notice the drop in speed/bandwidth contact the business helpdesk to get them to test the line there and then for you.
Regards
Markp
Hi Mark
Line is fine, less then 1 mile distance and directly connected to exchange, nothng inbetween.
It is the network capacity in the exchange itself and the connection of the exchange to the back bone network
