Hi All,
Just wanted to vent my anger at the way BT have treated us. In the last 4 -5 months we have been through hell and back and are at out witts end with it. A total catalogue of disaster from start to finish.
Firstly we are a small business with 3 feature lines and one broadband line.
We contacted BT when we were about to move premesis back in July last year. We told them our move date and agreed to sign a 5 year contract as long as we didnt get charged for the installation. Same as before 3 no. feature lines and one broadband. They agreed to that and gave us the new number at the new place as we were moving phone exchanges. We also agreed to have a divert put on our old number for 2 years on a VOIP at an agreed £8.00 a month.
All was going great until we ran into complications at the new place and had to move the installation a month forward. We contacted BT and were told that was fine and that the orders were ammended to suit the new dates. That was when the disaster started. At the start of the month we were meant to move BT cut the phones lines off. Still had broadband but no phones. We contacted them and were sent from pillar to post, went through dozens (I kid you not) of people and whenever we tried to get in touch with the person previously spoken to they were unavailible. Eventually after hours and hours of phone calls we were reconnected almost 2 WEEKS later. I dread to think how much work we lost during that time.
Anyway a week or so before we moved we had no less than FOUR!! engineers come and test the existing lines in the new unit and trace them back to the exchange. So again, trips back and forth to let BT engineers into the unit. All seemed fine apart from the fact that the lines were not feature lines but normal lines so we couldnt transfer between phones and the number we were issued didnt ring any of the phone lines. So we then spent another 2 weeks phoning BT, getting passed about from pillar to post, from indian call centres to uk fault centres, different people every time we called back and nobody seemed to know what the last person had done so we had to go through it all again.
Anyway.....Once the lines were live and the feature lines in place with the correct numbers we then start getting the bills!
Bill after bill for installation, lines that we dont appear to have, VOiP charges for other lines that dont relate to any nimbers we have, red letters because we refuse to pay for stuff we dont know what it is, Indian call centres that you can hardly understand telling us we have to pay or be disconnected etc etc etc
All we want is for a UK representative to come and see us and go through the bills explaining what and why we are being charged for.
NEVER again will we sign a BT contract and NEVER will i recommend them.
Does anyone on here have any contacts for UK based people that are capable of sorting this out for us?
