Hi,
We have just had BT Fibre broadband installed with the fibre router and fibre modem set up for us.
I have a Cisco ASA firewall which I want to do the PPPoE on, can I plug the fibre modem straight into my ASA to do this or do I need to put the BT router into pass-through mode?
I would assume you would be able to have the Cisco straight in and dialling the PPPoE, but in all honesty I've no idea at this early stage. If you plug the Cisco into the 2701, you should be able to set it to DMZ+ mode and the peer address will be passed straight through to the Cisco along with all the ports (just remember to reboot the Cisco after you set DMZ).
