BT Domain, Free 50Mb Hosting and DNS

Hi all

I've had a domain registered with BT for a while and not set up a website. Now while setting up my own server I wanted to redirect www to it but BT's DNS manager wouldn't allow it as it claimed that it was already set up to fire off to some BT IP address. And the box's were greyed out.

Then I noticed I have been given 50Mb of web space free, so I assumed that this would be were my domain was pointing to so I set up my free hosting...... but no joy apparently this cannot be used with the domain name. So how do I get control of my DNS record and were is BT pointing my records to?

Hi Cacus

You are 100% correct.  The DNS manager wil not let you change the ftp @none or www records if this is already set to a webspace.

The easiest way to fix this is to contact us at www.dnsforms.com 

and ask for an A record repoint
