BT Hub3 not delivered with Static IP configured

Peakgenops

I have a new BT hub 3 and paperwork with a single static IP address which was ordered with the line. However when I look at the hub configuration the static IP is not configured, and when I try to configure it by enetering the static IP sent in the wlecome pack, it says invalid entry. Can anyone help?

Thanks Steve

You can use the static IP anywhere on top of assigning it on the switch. You can set this at a single host or anything.

It can be set in the switch too. Check this link. Make sure to double check the subnet mask.

Hi,

Single statics are picked up by the connection when you connect with the right details.  You don't have to do anything else, unless you have some weird set up that needs extra settings.

It's only multiples that need allocated.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Hi daveyc2004,

I am sorry to see you are having a problem with setting a static IP up in the Hub 3.  The Hub 3 should have the static IP option switched off, as this is for setting up either a range of 5 or 13 static IP's.

To setup a single static IP, all you need to do is make sure the router is obtaining an IP automatically and that the hub is using the correct username and password for the line, as once the hub logs in we auto assign the single static IP to the router, so that you only need to setup the port forwarding to the dvr to be able to access it remotely.

If you are still having a problem in the setup/port forwarding I would advise you to contact the helpdesk, and they can screen share with you to check the settings in the Hub 3 for you.
