Hi,
Has anyone received a letter or an e-mail in regards to BT swapping over the 1st/2nd Generation Infinity Modems?
I have just seen this on the following link:-
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/01/27/bt_modem_replacement/
Anyone from BT want to comment. I have the 2nd Generation which is wall mounted and still gets quite hot. Never did get the 37mb down, max I get is 26/27mb on a good day.
Would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on this
Mike
Why this has just become news, I don't know. But there has been a replacement programme in place for several months.
As for your 26/27Mbps that is probably down to the line length and not the modem.
Hi,
Openreach have a programme to replace all existing affected modems for the latest version. The customers with these affetced modems will be contacted and appointment will be made to replace the modem.
