After years of not being bother by spam I have suddenly found my email account receiving spam. Has BT updated its Spam Filters? If it was a software update it has clear not worked. Is anybody else suffering this problem?
Hi Nalp30
As far as I know there has been no major update to the way in which BT handles spam.
The best way to deal with this is to mark any spam or junk emails that come through to you as such as this will allow us to update your spam filter and prevent spam in the future.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I don't understand you suggestion about me marking spam. I do that in Outlook as Junk and Outlook will then block further emails from that address. How does BT know which email I have blocked as Spam?
Nick
If your using the Lite product (pop connection) and using an outlook Email CLient it won't
If you use Outlook Web App (portal.microsoftonline.com) then the server will learn from your suggestion of what is and isn't Spam,
if you use the Premium Product, then you are "Syncing" with the server which means that any request to Mark as not spam will complete on both the server and the Client,
Thanks for the explanation. I'm using the premium product and am marking all spam as Junk. Interestingly the spam suddenly stopped on Tuesday. Something somewhere made it stop.
After a week without spam I've been hit by over 50 junk emails in the last 2 days. They are all structured in the same style as adverts and the vast majority come from .eu email addresses. Outlook allows you to block most country specific email addresses but interestingly not .eu addresses. But what has happened to the BT Spam filters that used to stop this sort of attack?
