BTinternet Emails and Feedback Loops

NikkiGreenStar

Hello

My name is Nikki and i work for a publishing company called Green Star Media.

Over the past few weeks we have had a few customers complain that they are not receiving our emails and they all have the email address that ends in @btinternet.com. I wonder if for some reason BT are blocking our email due to the volume we send on a monthly basis as you think we are spam.

Is there any way we can have this issue resolved. Do you have a Feedback Loop we can join or a white list? Its not fair on our customers to keep having to contact us as their subscriptions they have paid for are not reaching them because you are blocking our emails.

We have over 20,000 customers on our database with the email address @btinternet.com so i would like to get this issue resolved ASAp in order to keep our customers happy.

We have registered with numerous other Feedback loops and also hold a very good relationship with Return Path, so its proven that we are not a spam company and are just trying to do our jobs.

I would be grateful if someone could help me out with this or point me in the right direction of who i need to talk to.

Thanks in Advance

Nikki

Have you checked to see if you are on a global black list?

Hi,

The problem you have here is that Yahoo run the residential email platform, and they use an incoming whitelist.

Basically what that means is they check the domains that emails come in from, and unless it has been registered with Yahoo it may either go to the Spam folder or be blocked.

What you'll need to do is contact Yahoo directly.  Here's a link to the bulk sender form:

Hopefully that'll get you going in the right direction.

Or set up a reverse DNS entry for your domain if not already done so

Hi,

Certainly wouldn't do any harm.

Hello

Thank you both for your replies.

Does Yahoo also look after Btinternet then? I have tried numerous times to be accepted on the Yahoo FBL but because our company doesnt have Domain Keys then wont accept us.

How would i go about setting up a reverse DNS entry?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Nikki,

Yes Yahoo manage the btinternet email addresses.  To setup a reverse dns entry assuming you run your own mail server, you would need to contact the supplier of your static ip address and ask them to update the records they may ask for your domain name.

If your static ip is provided from BT please email reverse.dns@btbroadbandoffice.com providing your ip address, domain name and primary btconnect.com email address.

Thanks,

Steve
