Blackberry Data Plan

kebabman

Hi, I installed Blackberry App world on my Blackberry last night but trying to open it yields the message :

"Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibillities at Blackberry App World. Contact your service provider for more details"

I thought I would try here first to see what can be done. I managed to find a forum post somewhere where another user on BT managed to get this sorted by calling up and getting the tech support team to switch something on their account. Whilst I realise that I should be able to do this as well, surely this would be something that should be done as standard. I have the unlimited dataplan on my contract so I don't see why the setting that obviously needs to be anabled for this can't be done by default.

If there is another reason that might be causing App World not to work I would be grateful for any pointers.

Hi Kebabman,

Unfortunately as this is not a BT product, it obviously requires some alteration to your account settings to be used. It is hard to say what might need altering, but it may be as simple as the bar in place to restrict sites of an adult nature might be blocking App world.

I'm afraid that the only advice I can offer is to call your tech support number, sorry I can't be of more help.

Regards

Hi Kebabman

I had the same problem.  My Blackberry also couldn't load up the Maps tool which is built into the Blackberry.

Try contacting BT www.bt.com/business/contactus

Tell them the Maps feature isn't working and they can check to see if your settings are correct.

Then you have to restart the Blackberry by removing the battery.

It worked fine then.
