Hi everybody

I have 2 phone lines and 2 BT Broadband Business Packages, I was told that BT does support ADSL bonding, but I'm not sure on what to ask the help desk on how to enable it,

I need 1 username and password for both accounts to connect together

any ideas on what to ask??

Regards

Pete

Wouldn't your best bet be to just call one of the sales lines? Would have thought they'd be able to help you out pretty easily. Let us know how you get on.

I believe BT only currently offer bonded ADSL as a trial in Lincolnshire.

We've been using Evolving Networks for about a year though now who do bonded ADSL and bonded SDSL or combinations of both which is what we use!

Their website is www.evolving-networks.co.uk

If BT can't give you bonded ADSL with your two lines, then you can migrate the ADSL service and still keep the same lines I believe.

Hi there,

I believe BT wholesale have started selling shareband, which is software based bonding.  Their website is here http://www.sharedband.com/

No idea how to order, probably local business.

There are a few write ups on the net about it but nothing yet in bt products and services page.

Thanks

I'm guessing you wouldn't need to go register for a specific option, a load balancing (dual wan) router should do the job, which unfortunately BT BB don't supply. Different load balancers work in different ways, some use the 2nd DSL line as a fall over if the primary goes down, others actually combine the boths lines... research which is best for you.

BT Retail don't sell the sharedband solution, although there was a trial in Lincolnshire.

Eclipse started doing sharedband but we had quite a few problems with it.  Mainly with contention and parts of the day that everything just slowed down.

They kept saying the lines were fine so it must have been the network or something I dont know.

Moved to Evolving Networks now - got a bonded adsl from them. www.evolving-networks.co.uk/bonded-adsl  no slow downs. much better.

going to put fttc in in a few months when bt do the upgrade.  Evolving Networks are upgrading for free which is quite good.  So I keep bonding and also get fttc as well. nice.
