Brand new BT Business Hub 3 keeps dropping speed - normally about 3.5 meg - speed gradually drops away to useless - reboot router and hey preston 3.5meg. Anyone got any ideas ????
It is definitely the router and it was set up on the 27th by 28th it was down to 0.44meg rebooted and started to slow last night, this morning 31st down to 0.87meg and rebooted. Up to 3.5 meg now down 2.5meg.
Hi DSS,
I have had a look at your account and I can see you have contacted the helpdesk, who have factory reset the router and it is still happening. Looking at the notes they believe it might be a line issue as there are some errors on the line when they testeed it, and they have booked you out an engineer for today 03/02/15.
The engineer will be able to check the line to reduce/clear the errors on the line and if need be they carry replacement routers, but it does look like a line issue more that a router issue.
If you can let us know the outcome from the engineer, so we can let other users know the cause of the problem.

Engineer left an hour ago - line perfect testing at just over 4meg no errors whatsoever. Put new Mk3 faceplate on socket. Line still tests on Bt speedtest at 0.25meg - sometimes can't even complete test with error 2032. Can't complete futher diagnostic test so can't see what cap if any is on the line.
Even the route says it is seeing 4.5meg downstream

My firmware version is Version 4.7.5.1.83.8.82.1.1 (Type A) which seems to be very old and ther are other threads talking up locks ups on older firmware. How can I get an update??
