Hi all,
I have a bt crapberry and I would like to use the sim in a Samsung Galaxy as the phone is easier to use.
After swapping the sim to the Android phone, I can make and receive calls. Internet cannot be accessed as the APN setting are incorrect. I changed them to bt settings and now the internet is working ok.
It appears that the phone now uses the Vodafone network. I was just wondering if I am likely to incur extra charges for using the blackberry sim in an Android phone.
It is te SIM that determines the network that you use. I would guess that your previous Blackberry was also routing via the Vodafone network.
Why not call and get a new SIM on your existing account & phone number and modify any dat aplans to a more appropriate one.
I don't think you will get any additional charges for this since you are still using the same network and just changes phones. That is fine.
worst case scenario you'll have to get a new number. It's a bit of a ball ache, but you do tend to 'cull' the people who don't matter whenever you do this.
