Hello
I am having real problems trying to get my outgoing mails to work on my iPhone.
I have looked for days online for help and have found various forums telling me what settings I should use, but still I have no luck.
My email is a btconnect email address.
My mobile phone operator is Vodafone.
I can receive emails without any problems, but can't send.
Please can anyone confirm the settings I need for the outgoing mail server? Vodafone don't want to know and tell me I have to contact BT. Infuriating.
Thanks to anyone for helping
Hi,
BT Help and Support pages, search for 'iphone':
http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/2048,2050,2059/a_id/15437/kw/iphone
And Vodafone, despite their denials, have an issue with sending email. There's a thread elsewhere on there forums where I point out that my @btconnect.com address works perfectly on T-Mobile, while someone else's fails on Vodafone... and we're using the exact same phone (HTC Sensation).
So, good luck with it.
Cheers.

I lost my BT service for 6 weeks but BT provided a 3G modem - on Vadafone. My PC was set up exactly as before and emails went but never arrived. BT support spent hours working with me and we could not find out what was happening. A second PC could noy even send emails.
Moved to an O2 3G modem, 95% success rate.
So, BT or Vodafone? My money would go on Vodafone.
Many thanks.
I found this page on the BT website, have used the settings detailed, but still no outgoing mail.
Ready to throw the phone through the window and cancel my contract with Vodafone!
Hi Penn. Double check the SMTP or outging server. Also look for an option that says authentication. Play around with it. Try to disable and enable it and see which one would let your connect.
