Btconnect android email messages not kept on phone

The btconnect email service is running fine on my PC. I have set up the same email service on a new samsung galaxy ace. This was very simple and required no more than the email account name and password and appeared to be fine at first. I could see existing emails and receive and send.

I find now that no emails are showing. I can send OK. I only receive after pressing - load more email ( something like that). Whne I do this existing emails disappear. ( Having just written this and thought about it, I think I would have to play with it more to be able to describe the behaviour exactly, but basically I only see new emails for a short while and then they disappear and none are shown)

I have gone through all the settings on the phone I can see and they appear to be what should work properly - i.e. keep 50 emails - never delete from server - check for new emails every 5 minutes.

None of this affects the service on my PC which continues to work perfectly and no emails have been lost - so they are still there on the server.

I have seen other problems with android but not exactly this one. If anyone has an idea how to fix it I would be grateful

Regards

Richard

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on 2 differen devices running 2 different versions of Android. Even unread mails on the device are deleted. Hitting "Load more messages" has no effect. Likewise, I have tried eveything in the (limited) options menu on the device.

Any other Android users out there with a solution? It's a real irritation when you're out and about.

Hi there,

Not sure for all android OS, but certainly on mine, in email - settings there's an option as to how long to keep the emails on the phone.  Try increasing the number of days.

Thanks,
