O365 Update - what to expect on the day?

I'm the IT admin for a company that has 80 BT Connect mailboxes.  We're scheduled for Office 365 upgrade on Monday 17th Nov, and I'm after a little info on the process from the end user's point of view.

We've satisfied all the criteria in the Upgrade Centre (login names selected and non-compliant passwords amended), so it's all set to happen on Monday.

Will all accounts be upgraded at the same time, or individually through the day?  We have one BT account, with two domains.

I understand users will receive an email, what will be in the email?  Is it a set of instructions for changing email client settings themselves, or an executable file to change the client program settings?  I'm hoping for something the majority of users can do themselves, rather than having to update 80 PCs one by one myself.  With inevitable teething issues I'll be busy enough without having to handhold each user.

I realise there will be some disruption to availability during the process, roughly how long is this likely to last?

Finally, will users gain any other office 365 functionality (e.g.. the ability to share address books or calendars), or is this purely the mailbox function?  We currently have the Business Essentials and Internet Business Pack.

Thanks for your help.
