Business VoIP - Your wishlist

This thread is for anyone to make suggestions and requests for future features/functionality for the Business VoIP product range (Broadband Voice and BT Hosted VoIP). We can't guarantee that any ideas will be implemented, but everything will definitely be considered on its merits and no suggestions are too outlandish.

VOIP integration with Salesforce CRM & Ribbit.  It would be great to able to have calls routed through a CTI application in Salesforce.  Features to include making & answering calls using a softphone; logging of call activity against contacts/accounts/cases; ability to record calls (live calls, not just voicemail messages as Ribbit allows).

Reliable connections, no more dead calls - maybe miracles take longer, but it would be nice to have one day when the incoming and outgoing calls are not lost in the ether.

Back in December 2008 someone on this forum recommended proper integration of 1571 with Falcon IP phones.  That was over two and a half years ago.  We have just paid a lot of money for a BT Hosted Voip system which was sold to us as a genuine business solution and now I am going through the setup process I am appalled that there is no system to alert our users when they have voicemails.  After a 30 minute wait for the helpdesk today, their best suggestion was that we should just dial in and check our voicemail boxes regularly.....!!

Come on BT!!  You provide alerts and sound files to email for other users of the 1571 system.  Surely it can't be that difficult to give it to your business users.  You might be relaxed about not getting back to your customers promptly, but most of us who are trying to run a genuinely customer focussed business are keen to know immediately anyone has left us a message.

I wonder how quickly you will respond to this plea....

Hi Ortolan

I'm sorry to say that function is still not available on the voip platforms and there is no short term plans to introduce this service.

It would be really helpful to be able to schedule calls to be diverted from BT Business VOIP to other phones at different times and days.

I had this set up with another VOIP provider, and when we moved office recently I was happy to set up a BT VOIP line (To keep our old numbers), thinking it could replace the other VOIP service.

It took a while to realise I can not schedule the calls on the BT VOIP so I am in the ludicrous situation of having calls from our old local numbers coming in to the BT VOIP, all diverted to another VOIP service and from there to a range of phone numbers depending on the time and day. I have to pay both VOIP services, of course.

Our call volume is set to increase substantially as we are setting up a freephone number that needs to be scheduled and this could all get unnecessarily expensive.

Please tell me BT is planning to set up a scheduling facility soon.

I am surprised to read the answer from Sean to Ortolan.

I have posted to ask for the facility to schedule redirects from BT VOIP.

I changed to BT thinking the same functionality as I had with another VOIP provider would be standard. My exisiting VOIP provider also sends an email when there is a message, and it can be played on the computer.

I took the BT VOIP service thinking I needed to to keep old numbers from a previous office in another locality.I assumed I would close the existing VOIP and replace it with the BT one.I'm having to maintain them both. Why is BT not making use of technology to improve this service when other providers have these facilities as standard?
