Can eShop Basket handle different Price List discounts?

whoknows

Hi,

I would like to provide different discount structures based on different products.  For instance, I have product A which i want ro provide a discount by total price just for that product (ie, 5% for £200 of Product A and 10% for £500 for Product A etc).

But for Product B i want to provide a discount based on the number of items ordered - so they get 5% discount for 10 items and 10% for 20 items etc.

I know how to set up the price list.   For Product A i can set up a price list that gives discount by basket price, i can then also add product A to the restriction, so it will only give a discount for Product A

For Product B i can set up another price list, restricted to Product B, but will give discount based on number of items.

BUt if a customer buys £200 of product A giving a 5% discount PLUS 20 items of product B giving (say) 10% discount for product B only - Will eShop calculate it this way?

So, I want it only to give 5% discount for product A (even though total baskt value may be say, £700) AND give 10% discount for just the 20 items of Product B (even though the total number of items may be 25 - which is the total of product A and Prdcut B...).

Phew....does that make sense?

Hello,

right now it is not possible to set up a discount which will work, when i.e. 5 items (no matter which or from defined products) will be put in the basket.

The development is working on a solution.

hello whoknows,

Firstly, your question does make sense! Secondly, the eShop works exactly as you've described. With pricelists discounts can be given on the total value of the basket and/or on the product itself.

When the discount is given on the product you'll see the discount on the order line. So in the example you spoke of...

The 5% discount would come on Line1 for Product A and the 10% discount would be given on Line2 for Product B (assuming you've bought enough of either product to get the discount). The total basket discount would only kick in if you've set up the 'shopping basket discount' on the pricelist.

My advice. Create a new customer group and pricelist, add yourself as a customer to the shop, assign yourself to that customer group and try it all out yourself.

Hope it helps, Orchie

Hi Orchie,

Thanks for you replay and apologies for not coming back sooner, got side tracked with other things on eShop.

OK.  How do i set up discounts on the number of items in the basket?  I can do it for a single product through the Bulk Discount under the Prices tab.

But if i want to give a discount say for 5 items (which could be a combination of Product A, Product B, etc), how do i set that up?  Can't seem to find a way of doing this....

Thanks
