Hi all,
I'm new to the world of VoIP but thought it would be a good cost effective practice in our office so ordered it for use with the BT Business Hub. I was told this would be a simple case of plug and play after automatically configuring their software but I am unable to get a dial tone and none of the buttons (including the headphone and speaker) illuminate.
After speaking with BT they have now said that the software is only for their own Falcon IP phone and that I need to get configuration settings for the SPA941 from Linksys. I have tried searching the internet for an answer to this and posted on Cisco's forums but to no avail. Help.
During today's search I have started reading up on the likes of Asterisk. Surely I don't need to use a third party programme in order to use my SPA941?

PS During the last call to BT I was told to right click on Step 3 of 3 of configuration and managed to gleen some info by saving the URL to a Word document but, as a near beginner, I am struggling to get anything other than amber line buttons (ie Failed) which, incidentally, was by pure guesswork.

There is your details, you need to configure them yourself in your phone.
You wont get any help from the helpdesk for doing this as it is your equipment, if it doesnt work, then its not being configured correctly.
Unfortunately, Ive never set up or seen an SPA941 so wouldnt be able to help more than this 😕
