Hi,
I am a complete newbie to working with websites and domains. I set up a web hosting account for a small school i work for and a couple of issues keep arising.
As I was new to web hosting and was experimenting, i'd quite like to just delete our website and start from the beginning, now I am a bit more experienced. I read on another post that the website can be deleted using Easy Site Wizard Pro, however when i go to 'manage websites' it is telling me I have no websites.
I also have trouble with the site optimization tool. It seems to be optimizing a random web address, that was possibly accidently published when I first started using the web hosting tool. The website it is optimizing consists of one of the standard backgrounds and some Spanish text.
Basically, I would like to delete all the active websites associated with the domain and start from scratch. How do i do this?
Thank you
Hi adminBGMS,
If the website it not showing in easy site Wizard pro, it could be that the current website was not built using that program.
If you, build a new website in easy site Wizard pro, it wont overrite the current one until you publish the new site.
if you just want to delete the old site completely you can do this by logging in to the hosting account via FTP, and by deleting the files in the public folder, I would advise to take a back up of the site using the same FTP program in case you want to put it back up at a later date.
If you need anyhelp in retreiving your username and password to access via FTP you can contact the helpdesk

Hi Mark,
Thank you. Could you explain how I log in to the hosting account via FTP? Where do i find this?
Thanks
Hi there,
you would need to use an FTP client similar to Filezilla/smartftp etc.The details you will need is the ftp host address this will be ftp.yourdomain.com, username will be yourdomain.com and you can get your FTP password from the helpdesk or when you login to the BT website and go to manage web hosting and online stores you can reset the ftp password.
