Domain Forward Doesn't Work

portandstilton

I have bought the domain www.portgifts.co.uk and want it to forward onto http://www.ukhampers.webs.com/. However, when you enter portgifts.co.uk into the address bar and press enter i get:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

What should i do?

Hi,

As part of my business package I have the web address www.designandconstructltd.co.uk registered with yourselves and have tried to redirect to www.designandconstructionltd.moonfruit.com however this only works about 40% of the time. The rest of the time I receive the following message...

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Please can you check to see if the redirect is correctly setup as I feel that it isn't.

Many thanks.

Hi Colin,

The problem is being caused by the fact that main records for the site point to our default servers.

The only record which has been changed is the * record, this is used to specify where the browser will go when the prefix for the domain is mis-spelled i.e ww. instead of www. written before the domain.

In order to have your domain forwarded to a URL, the best way is to request this is on the following website: www.dnsforms.co.uk

Click on the link - DNS A-record repoint and then quickly click on Email BT.

On this form you can have our DNS team repoint your domain name to any URL you wish.

The reasons we require you to complete the form online is so that we have a written record of the request, also your domain is currently set to our defaults so logging in to the domain manager would not allow you to change the settings as they are locked if set to defaults.

Thanks

Colin

Hi, I have a website hosted with BT business hosting that I get the same error message as everybody else on this post but it is not a domain forward problem as I have not set up a forward as far as I know. The site is www.fayedobinsonart.co.uk

I am able to ftp upload to the public directory no problem I don't know if it is relevant but there appeared to be some files under the private/esw folder which I have deleted but am still having the same problem.
