EWS Pro - cloning a site

I am interested in creating a newer version of my website using ESW Pro (already have one with ESW but want to upgrade) - is there anyway I can 'clone' the new version after it is published.  I am the type of person who likes to 'tinker' with their site - and I also need to put monthly offers on the first page, etc.  I am very concerned that each time I want to do something with the site it will be taken off-line and if any error is made the whole site will have to be created from scratch again.

You can't do it officially, but you can use FTP to download the entire contents of the public and private folders to your local computer and keep them as a backup.

If you manage to mess up your site, use FTP to delete the contents of these folders on the server and then restore the backed up files. This will restore both the published site and the EasySiteWizard Pro editor content to the way it was when you took the copy.

Thanks Dave - that sounds promising.

I take it that I can work on a single page on my hard drive, delete the appropriate matching page via FTP and then upload the amended single page - it would just be so much easier if they would offer the 'clone' facility with Pro!  Do they have a suggestion box?

No, not quite.

You would take the copy, then continue to work on the site using the ESW Pro. If things go wrong, you would restore from the copy on your hard drive. Unfortunately I don't think it is possible to restore individual pages, it would be all or nothing.

Actually, now that I think about it, you can restore individual pages in the ESW Pro by clicking the disk icon and selecting restore from backup. This might be an easier way to do things.
