Easy Blog Builder

JohnH
Member

I'm looking to add a blog and want to integrate it into my website. Does anyone have experience of using the Easy Blog Builder here? Any examples I can look at before I start off?

Or am I better to use Wordpress? I've new to this and have no technical knowledge but can follow a manual so any thoughts welcome.

Thanks,

John

Hi,

I am in a similar position as JohnH.

I see the path Easy Blog builder automatically places the blog, but can I plug this PHP blog it into a specific CSS element of my existing site so it fits in with my design theme? Or will I need to get a third party blog element?

Slight tangent - If I want a forum plugged into my current design again in a particular CSS part of the web page, what are my options inside or outside BT.

The usage of integration by John seems to be the key word here.

thanks for any help in advance.

EasyBlogBuilder is fairly easy to use but is limited in how it can be customised. You choose one of the predefined templates and are stuck with it, so as far as integration goes it may not be ideal.

Wordpress on the other hand can be as customised as much as you like and could be made to integrate with your site perfectly, however to do this does require editing the css templates, etc so would involve a bit of work and a lot of learning.

You would also need the £15 hosting package as Wordpress needs a MySQL database, so this may be extra expense if you are not using that package already.

Dave,

Thanks for taking the time out to give me the rundown.

I am of the school digest a lot of learning and work hard to do it yourself so perhaps the wordpress option is the solution for me. Not sure the £15 hosting package is worth it just for that. I only want a site web blog to list my development with a theme/style that is ok, but importantly can plug into my graphic colour frame work.

Is there another solution to get MySQL - like sitting on my own computer - or am I misunderstanding the situation.

Also perhaps I should try read the tech notes on wordpress before downloading to see how it will plug in.

thanks again
