Easysitewizard Menu and page problems

Is anyone today having problems with the Menus in Easysitewizard?

I am creating new buttons like I have dozens of times before, and they presto within 2 seconds they are vanishing before my eyesI am creating pages, putting pictures on the site and linking them fineBut no damned buttonIf I even click the SAVE button, they vanish!?!?

This is so infuriating, is it me or is there yet another glitch in Easysitewizard?

Any help would be much appreciated :smileyhappy:

Hi Paul,

Sitting here with a calm head on I just managed to get around the problem .... Smiley Happy

--- Make the change you want, and then click save.

--- you will see that it then 'reverts' back to how it was.

--- But this time, instead of getting annoyed and making the change again, hit save for a second time.

And... it works!!!  Clearly a BT glitch, but at least we can try and work around this issue!

Hi there,

That's a strange problem.  I haven't encountered that in ESW.  Are you  importing graphics to use as your buttons or using the ones in ESW?  Are your buttons showing on the web page as broken graphics?

Thanks for getting back to me Peter.

No the data on the screen isn't fragmenting or anything like it, it just vanishes.  Literally.

I add a button, the ones on ESW not an imported one.  And as soon as I hit save, or try to move away from  the page or click publish.  They Vanish.  When I click publish sometimes its publishing it and sometimes its not.

I was told last night by someone else that they were having problems with a server.  But have been told tonight thats not the case.

It has been doing this for 3 days now.

I have just spoke to the helpdesk, I now have been given a premium rate helpdesk to ring at the small cost of 50p per min. As my line is a "residential" line not a business line.

So at the moment somethin insignificant is really giving me the needle Smiley Surprised

No problem.  Just a thought.....are you using  Safari by any chance?  I've spoken to a few people with similar issues trying to use ESW in Safari.  Chrome could be problematic as well.

I'll be playing with one of my ESW sites tonight though.  I'll check out the buttons and see if I can duplicate what's happening for you.

Thanks Peter.  I am using Mozilla, which up to now has been pretty stable for ESW.

But, grasping at straws before I tried Internet Explorer.  Which I think is one of the most unsuitable platforms for ESW and others.  And while there were the usual glitches the menu buttons where mostly staying put and not vanishing.

So maybe its something at my end.  As this is my first site, and basically I am making it up as I go along it is probably me! So any help is always appreciated.

Thanks

No it is definitely not a problem at your end, and dont let BT or anyone else tell you otherwise!!! I am having exactly the same problem and tearing my hair out over it. My site is financially critical and this has messed up my working week. I have really important changes to make and the Site Builder is refusing to save or publish the changes.

Any advice anyone... from BT perhaps???

Kieran, thank god there is someone else out there that's having the same problem.  I thought my marbles were on the roll!

Sorry to hear about the problem's your having too, I would certainly be putting in a complaint!  Especially if it's business critical!

I will try that tonight.

Once again thanks!
