My PC is correctly set up for UK dates and times and my preferred format is dd/mm/yy so for today 14th Spetember 2009 I would like to see:
14/09/09 or 14/09/2009 or 14-09-09 or something similar.
However, when I access MyOffice through FireFox 3.5.3 (updated today) the only date options I get are US format ... mm/dd/yy so for today the options are:
9/14/09, 09/14/09, 9/14/2009 &c.
For a product aimed at UK users I would have hoped that the date formatting would have been correct and allow UK users to choose a normal UK format.
It does seem that product testing was not as intensive and complete as it should have been and that a major bug has been allowed through.
Hi
Do you get the same issue when you enter My Office using another Browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari? Or is this only related to FireFox?

I have loaded and run IE on the PC where the problem was initially found - company policy is that IE should not be used due to the security problems unless absolutely necessary.
In IE the problem does NOT occur and I get the date in a standard UK format. I have also tried it with FF on various other PCs with the same result. I have also checked the locality of FF and it is the EN-GB version that is installed.
Hi
Thanks for getting back to me, have you contacted Fire Fox to see if it is an issue with their browser in that is doesn't allow the date and time format you require. Or if they have any updates or fixes that will allow fire fox to show the date in the format you require.

I have emailedd a couple of contacts who develop bespoke brosers and applications and one has suggested what it might be.
In FF the location/language details are normally set for EN (for English) as the way content should be displayed when more than one language is available on the page and it is possible to add German, French, &c and various dialects . When an application runs it should look at that detail and on seeing EN as the first in the list display everything in English and if no dialect is shown it should display using the PCs preset data for date/time/location &c which in my case is GB. For some reason the MyOffice app seems to ignore the GB setting and use US.
I have looked at other apps and websites and their dates all appear to be in the correct UK format.
There is a solution:
<Tools> <Options> <Content> <Choose - Languages> and then add EN-GB to the list.
I still believe there is a bug in MyOffice whereby it does not default to the PCs chosen format.
Hi
I'll ask someone to look into this and will let you know what they come back with.

Hi There polchraine,
The Email previewer is linked directly into the outlook web access client, with the mailbox for your account.
Within the configurations for that is how you wish the date to be presented, I would suggest as a first check we try and see how your settings are configured for this.
To do this, log into Myoffice as usual, and either
1) click on Your email in the sub navigation under the header
or
2) click on the email previewer widget and then "Go to your email >" at the bottom of the email pane
Once this is done and your presented with the outlook web access page with your emails on it, click on "options" and scroll down to Date and Time Formats and set up your preferences for English format there.
I believe that should sort the issue out but if it doesn't work please feel free to post back here.
Regards
Dave
The problem is there too, which you can see from the attached file.
Hi
We have looked into this and it doesn't appear to be happening to everyones Outlook Web Access, on our accounts using Firefox 3.5.3 we do not get the same problem.
I believe this may be a local issue to your Outlook WebMail, or a small number of webmail accounts. This being the case the issue would need to be raised through the technical team.
Kind Regards
